Summer to Fall Fashion

Danielle Elderkin

Fall Fashion Trends

Fall means back to school, football games and most importantly at Cover Story – fashion! This fall’s looks are some of our favorite ever, including easy transition pieces, rose gold and Fashion Week worthy makeup.

Summer to Fall Transition

At our office, the PRdolls have a hard time letting go of summer. We hang on to our warm weather clothes as long as possible. That means we get pretty creative to ward off the chill while looking stylish.

For instance, summer sundresses or rompers can be dressed up with booties, tights, a blazer, scarf, and cute floppy hat. Mix in some dainty petite jewelry (so on trend) and an oversized bag for all your PR gear and you’re good to go.

Rose Gold Makes Us Dance

Two words…ROSE GOLD! We’re obsessed with it. So this next outfit puts a drool worthy Michael Kors rose gold watch front and center. Ballet pink coordinates so beautifully with it and the black is a nice contrast for the fall. If you’re like us and bring your adorable pooch to work, keep her cozy in a coordinated sweater.

Get Cara’s Look

We weren’t all blessed with the genes of gorg “it girl” Cara Delevingne, but that doesn’t mean we can’t try to steal her look! With some genius tools, amazing products and a little skill, you too can recreate this hot off the runway face for fall: big natural brows, cat eyes and a pouty red lip. We finished it off with a neutral polish and gold nail tattoo.

Even though it’s still warm here in sunny California, this post almost has us craving a little cooler weather so we can put these looks to use! In the meantime, we’ll get our fall fix with a pumpkin spice latte. Happy styling, PRdolls!

Liberate Then Decorate

Danielle Elderkin

What if you could seamlessly (and chicly) prettify your favorite room with your favorite handpicked Instagram photos? Now what if you could easily switch those memories or images with different ones without even taking the frames off the wall? And what if you could do all that without the hassle of heavy hardware?

We found the simple answer to these “what ifs” in our new friends and clients at Fotobit.

Fotobit takes a techie approach to a traditional product, releasing the Instagram experience out of your smart phone and into daily life with sleek and simple-to-hang 4x4” frames. Adhering to the “power of three” in design, the interlocking frames come in sets of threes with everything you need to hang them, even including a tiny level. Cute, we know.

As for the prints? Who better to assist with this digital liberation than the good folks at SnapBox Printswhose coined tagline simply reads “Free Your Photos.”

In celebration of the newfound partnership, the design-savvy company pieced together a quick video to show you exactly how to use the frames with their art reproduction quality prints.

Our creative minds are busy thinking up all kinds of ways to use them. We can’t wait to see how your Instagram galleries come to life. Get started here.

3 Holiday Social Media Tips

Danielle Elderkin

social.jpg

How will you resonate with consumers on social this holiday season? Newest team member and social media account manager Elena Zanone sheds some light on the subject using the "power of three."

1. Give consumers the gift of honesty. Say what you mean, mean what you say in your social media efforts. Too often do I see brands misleading consumers with post copy, resulting in a horrific bounce back rate from their websites. People appreciate transparency as much as they appreciate a good, holiday discount. So tell users what they are clicking to: is it a blog post? Is it a promo code? Is it a holiday e card? Make it clear where you are driving to and keep consumers on your site/app/link longer.

2. Do Cyber Monday. Black Friday is great for major stores like Best Buy and Target, but Cyber Monday is where small businesses can thrive. Plus, its conducive to social by nature. I recommend creating a hashtag that speaks to your sale to make finding your goods easier than ever. From there, focus the sale on one social platform like Facebook, and use other platforms like Twitter and Instagram to cross-promote. This makes engagement easier and less confusing for your consumers, making your efforts more effective.

3. There is brilliance in simplicity. Invest in creating smart, festive, concise holiday imagery that your consumers will appreciate during the season and actually want to share.
