“Brunch without booze is just a sad late breakfast”
Nothing is more magical than brunch, the mimosas, the fabulous frittatas and um…bacon. It’s a chance to socialize and enjoy a meal with friends. And if you’re anything like us, it’s a chance to create and design a theme for your friends to enjoy just as much as the champs.
DIY placemats with pom-poms
When I hear the word pom-pom, my mind takes me back to the first grade to arts and crafts time. Those soft, fluffy round little balls were the best décor decision for my flowers and snowmen. So of course when our friends over at Rue Magazine posted a blog for DIY pom-pom placemats, we jumped at the opportunity for a little afternoon arts and craft time!
Here’s how we did it:
- Decide what your theme or color palette will be going with. Don’t just try and wing it when you get to your local craft store. Consider the dish colors etc., so the overall design has balance and makes sense visually.
Decide on size. The average size is 12x18 inches. Purchase placemat, or cut one out of material you would like to use.
Measure the pom-poms and cut accordingly.
Use hot glue gun to glue pom-poms down on placemat.
Let dry, and ta-da!
